CANNIBAL FEROX-1981

This is a different take on the revenge flick. John Morghen and his buddies terrorizes and kills some natives and then has to pay the ultimate price. My all time favorite Cannibal movie, fun in parts but on a whole really really sleazy.

New York grad student and anthropologist Gloria, her brother Rudy, and their friend Pat, travel to a remote part of the Amazon jungle to find and disaprove the local theory of cannibalism among the local tribes when they run into something far worse: a cruel and sadistic, streetwise drug dealer, named Mike Lawson, and his partner, Joe, hiding out in the jungle from murder and drug-dealing charges in back in New York and whom are presently using the docile natives to mine for emeralds and harvest cocca. When the crazed Lawson kills a few natives, including the daughter of the chief, just for his sadistic enjoyment, the warriors turn against their masters and subjuect the two dealers and three grad students to the most horrific torture and murder for their crimes using their own harsh law of the jungle.

I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE-1978

Almost a ripoff of my last two posts, this one isnt as graphic but just has a real hate and dirty feeling to it. Its really is overrated but it was the first rape revenge flick I saw so it holds a special place in my heart.

The film follows Jennifer, a writer who is working on a new novel and needs to get out of the city to finish it. She hires a riverside apartment in upstate New York to finish her novel, attracting the attention of a number of rowdy male locals. They catch Jenifer one day and strip her naked for the village idiot (Matthew) and rape her. Jennifer is later attacked and raped a further two times by the four degenerates, and her novel is also destroyed. But Jennifer slowly recovers and in her now-twisted, psychotic mind, she then begins to seek revenge on the four men who raped her.

Frigga is a young woman who was raped by a stranger as a child. Suffering from shock from this incident, she becomes a mute. One day, she heads to town to visit a highly qualified doctor about her condition. However, she misses the bus. A seemingly nice gentleman offers her a ride into town and has dinner with her, but she is drugged and is intentionally hooked onto heroine in order for the man to control her. She is forced to work in his brothel, but is given Mondays off, and she is given heroine daily, as to keep her coming back to the brothel for a supply. The pimp also forges a letter that is sent to her parents, which cruelly explains away her disappearance as abandonment. Her parents kill themselves in grief. After learning of her parents death, Frigga uses her Mondays off in order to train in martial arts, sharp-shooting, and driving, in order for her to take revenge on those who have wronged her.

Four months before Christmas, Sarah and Matthieu Scarangelo were in a car crash, of which Sarah and her unborn baby were the only survivors. On Christmas Eve, Sarah stays home alone, where she grieves her husband and prepares to go to the hospital the next morning for the delivery. As night falls, a woman knocks on Sarah's door asking to use the phone. When she refuses, the woman reveals that she knows Sarah and tries to force her way in. Sarah calls the police; they inspect the home and determine the woman has left, but promise to keep watch over Sarah through the night. The woman returns and tries to take Sarah's unborn child, but Sarah locks herself in the bathroom. The strange woman torments Sarah through the night and kills all who try help her. Must be included just for the baby removal scene.

IN A GLASS CAGE 1987

A former Nazi doctor-turned-pedophile, paralyzed from the neck down after a suicide attempt, is forced to accept a boy as his nurse under threat of blackmail: the boy secretly witnessed the doctor's torture and murder of another boy, and possesses the man's diary, which details his wartime experiments and his subsequent descent into pedophilia and murder. Before long, the boy displays his ambition to follow in the older man's footsteps. Not easy watching.

A slasher film about a victim of child abuse (Dan Grimaldi) who grows up to become a maniacal construction worker. He stalks women at discos, takes them home, then hangs them upside-down in a special steel-walled room and sets them on fire. Chock full of child abuse and burning women. Pretty hard to sit through. Sick stuff.

WARINING-THIS IS SOME GRUESOME STUFF.

When I first started this blog it was more Horror based and then sort of branched out to just random obscurities and whatever. Im going to kinda go back in the Horror direction with this list. These are the most disturbing mainstream films in my opinion.
Most of these movies are on the list just for the tone or realistic violence. Most "normal" people would not be able to stomach these flicks. I will do a follow up with more unknown films after this. So check it out.

Like a porn with violence instead of sex. A downbeat look into the mind of a serial killer. What I would call a true grindhouse classic.

MORE FINDS!!

I found these at the Capitol flea last Sat.. House of Seven Corpses was $1 in Video Gems Extra Large Clamshell with the artwork actually printed on the box. I guess only a few of these from Video Gems were like this. The End of The World is still sealed on Cult Video and cost me 25 cents.

NEW FINDS!!

So I went to the Flea Market a few weeks ago in Sacramento to check it out. I must admit it was pretty big but it took like 15 minutes of waiting in bumper to bumper traffic just to park. So inside is pretty disorganized and crowded. I check out some vendors with some video games, I think score Super Contra for NES ive been looking for this one a while. I ask the guy , how much is the game? He responds $50 that ones rare.
Are you fucking kidding me? This is the fucking flea market not a video game or toy show. Now unknowing to me my son is at the next booth asking him how much the original Contra is, his response $55. So we both have a good laugh and say fuck that. Now mind you both of these games were not in the box and were very well played, shit I don't even know if they worked.I did a little research just to see how rare these games were and even though they are pretty rare they only fetch up to about $40 with the box, out of the box were looking at about $5 to $12, I even saw both were sold for $18 together. So the weekend after that I am back in San Jose and head over to the Capitol Flea to check out the goods, and low and behold what do I find but Super Contra mint in the fucking box with everything for $5!! This is what flea markets are about, finding stuff no one else wants and them selling it for a price people will actually pay.

DEAD SNOW

So I finally got a chance to watch this flick that I am always hearing rave reviews about. The verdict, so so. First the good things, the setting was awesome and so was the reference to April Fools Day. Some of the gore was awesome, like when one of the guys gets his head ripped in half, and the Zombie make up and their outfits were pretty good. The bad, well a lot of the effects were digital and they sucked, sorry but dismembers and cgi blood reek of sci-fi original. The story was about the Nazi Zombies wanting back the stolen gold the kids found, so not much there. I watched this movie twice once with my friend Sean, dubbed in english and once by myself in Norweigian with subs. I can honestly say it was like two complete different movies. The dubbed version was a lot more comedic in the actors tone while the subs made the movie more serious and overall more enjoyable. In closing, I would say if you like flicks like Evil Dead 2 and Dead Alive you could do worse. Just don't expect the quality and awesomeness of those movies and you will have some fun. Rating Dubbed version C with Subs. C+

BLACK DYNAMITE

I finally got a chance to see this flick ive heard so much about. I wasn't too sure what to expect with this one I didn't know if it was supposed to be serious or a comedy. What I got was both, although it goes for laughs more than a homage most of the time. It had some funny stuff that's for sure, especially the kung fu training scene, other than that I hardly laughed out loud and slightly lost interest. To sum up this flick imagine a mix of Black Belt Jones, The Enter the Dragon scene from Kentucky Fried Movie and Im Gonna Get You Sucka. Good for a few chuckles but I would rather spend my time watching a real Blaxploitation flick over this any time. I guess I prefer my laughs unintentional and I kinda take offense of them making fun of these grindhouse classics. GRADE-C+ Here's the trailer and the dojo scene, enjoy.

Godmonster of Indian Flats.

So I finally got a chance to check out Godmonster of Indian Flats the other day and let me tell you I was not disappointed. The movie is about a mutated sheep that is somehow born through some sort of acid flashback or some shit like that, im still not sure what I witnessed. The sheep slowly walks around and I mean slowly and terrorizes some kids and eats their hot dogs and dances with the lab assistant in some sort of LSD haze. Man this movie is plain fucking weird. The ship also lets off a natural gas of some sort that turns everyone in the backwoods town loony as they kill the beast and run off into the dump. There is also a lot of other mumbo jumbo about real estate and small town politics, which is also entertaining in its own way. I highly recommend this turd for any bad movie night. LSD optional. B+

UPDATE!! VHS!!!!

Hey all, been quite some time since I updated. Ive been super busy with home life and work. Im done with work so I should have more time for other ventures, including this blog. So If you didn't know I am an avid VHS collector and have recently amassed some great new stuff. So here it is, I will share more great VHS soon! I got most of these from a mom and pop shop that was closing down.

TRICK R TREAT

Alright, well I am going to be adding a bunch of stuff to this blog in the near future but for now read on... So I finally saw the much hyped Trick R Treat. I have seen many reviews that really praise this flick. Well I guess times have changed and people just want to watch something original instead of a remake. I think that had a major role in this movie getting such great praise. To tell you the truth this movie reminded me of a hard PG-13 version of Goosebumps. I guess this is supposed to be an anthology but it really seemed to be more of one story with side plots, kidna reminded me of Pulp Fiction in that way. Kudos for the effects not going the cgi route,unfortunately they were pretty bottom of the barrel. On the plus side I liked that the movie was really quite fun and not too serious. I think for sure this would have bombed at the theatres . Even though I may sound harsh about this flick I would still recommend it instead of any damn remakes!! Except for The Thing of course. Final grade C+

Godfrey Ho!!

So anyone that knows me, knows I love ultra low budget Ninja Movies. My faves for the most part are anything by the splice miester Godfrey Ho. He takes a horrible asian flick and and splices in his own ninja flick to create a bewildering combination of shit. Check out this compilation of some of his best stuff.

ROGUE

So I just checked out the killer croc movie by Greg Mclean(Wolf Creek) ROGUE. The first thing I noticed about this flick is it reminded me a lot of Wolf Creek with tourists going into uncharted territory they come face to face with the antagonist, this time the giant croc instead of the serial killer,then going to the killers lair for the final face off. Overall the movie was pretty engaging and the acting was top notch. The one thing I really want to commend this movie on is the effects. The effects are almost all non cgi!! Yes the effects crew really did a great job here I thought the croc was real in a lot of the scenes, it was a rare treat to see this kind of effects work in a modern film that could have easily been all cgi and no one would have noticed. The cgi that is in the film is almost a perfect combination with the foam latex creature. If you like creature flicks I highly recommend this bad ass killer croc movie.

Hmmm..Looks somewhat interesting for sure. I like the hooded Myers and the scenes of him shadowed. It's seems to be kinda taking on a Jason and his mother connection somehow. Ill check it out.
